What are QR codes and what are its benefits?

What are QR codes and what are its benefits.

A QR code (stand for "quick response’ code) is a type of two-dimensional barcode. The QR code holds a milieu of dots that are used to provide easy access to information. There are three square outlines in the QR code, the top-left, top-right, and bottom-left corner. These square-shaped outlines define the alignment of the code.

How to scan a QR Code?

It can be scanned using a smartphone with a built-in camera or QR scanner. Once the QR code scanning, the software on the device translates the dots into numbers or a thread of characters. All QR codes have a square shape and include matrices of light and dark pixels that are used to encode through smartphones or scanners.

Advantages

1.   Customers love them

Why do people love QR codes? Well, for a start, they make their lives easier. No need to write down any web addresses. Just do a quick scan of the QR code and you will be directed on their website. It’s an easy and quick way of business when customers are usually short on time.

2. Quick and error-free

Imagine, if not QR Codes, then there is the only way to link consumers to online content, is by using a URL. But when you use a URL, it is difficult to write on a mobile screen and also time-consuming. Because the chances of error increased while typing. Compared to this, the QR code is a faster and error-free process.

3. Engaging with rich content

“Words are good, but a picture is worth a thousand words. Similarly, a video has hundreds of pictures. Audio is also more appropriate. But, these forms of rich content cannot be public through print promotions—unless you add a QR Code. Using QR Codes, dealers can share rich content via print promotions, and it is a better way to engage their audience. For example, a food company name “Chef’s Basket” added a QR Code on the packaging of one of its products. So when you scanned, the printed QR Code redirects you to a video of the recipe of that food product.
